Alscot welcomed more than 100 runners for its first-ever Tempo 5K, with participants taking on the challenging course in soaring summer temperatures of 34 degrees.
Despite the heat, 106 runners completed the race, cheered on by enthusiastic supporters from neighbouring villages who lined the route, many armed with hosepipes to help runners cool down as they tackled the infamous climb up Atherstone Hill.
The event marked an exciting new chapter for Alscot, which not only hosted the race in partnership with Tempo Events but also entered its own team of runners to support Friends of Stratford Hospital. Through Emma Holman-West’s fundraising campaign and the generosity of supporters, Team Alscot has now raised more than £10,000 for the charity.
As we wrap up another wonderfully busy year, we wanted to share a special moment of celebration with all of you. Our Christmas video was made with good cheer, plenty of laughs, and deep appreciation for everyone that makes Alscot the special and unique place it is.

We’re now in our second year of regenerative farming, and it’s been fantastic to see real progress taking shape.
As part of our commitment to sustainable land management, we’re grazing our SFI land with organic sheep – working in partnership with Daylesford Organic and other local farmers. Daylesford has provided 700 organic Lleyn sheep to graze between October and December across 650 acres of overseeded Alscot land, laid with herbal leys.
This approach not only supports soil health and biodiversity, but also contributes to the wider goal of sustainable and organic food production, which we believe is essential for healthy living.

Taking advantage of an opportunity to refurbish this traditional and substantial farmhouse with gardens, we set about work in Nov 2021 to update the property to suit modern day living.
The existing kitchen, downstairs WC and dining room were opened up into one large family space, with a brand new WC being converted from a pantry. A new fitted utility room was created from a disused cold store and an independent space, suitable for a home office or gym, was created from a boiler room.
The Alscot Community Calendar raised £1800 for the Church of St Mary, Preston on Stour.
We felt that the images shared on the Alscot Community Facebook page, all taken by amateur photographers depicting life on the Estate, deserved to be shared further and so we created a calendar for the coming year as a platform to showcase a selection of these wonderful images.
All images were blind chosen (no names on the photographs) and the calendar features photographs from 15 different members of the local community.
Following David Hall’s retirement last year, we were finally able to gather together to pay tribute to David’s long service.
The sun shone and the setting was perfect for friends and family to wish David the happiest of retirements.
After more than 60 years working on Estate land, man and boy, David took retirement in 2020.
On Tuesday 7th September, the Holman-West family invited David to their home, Alscot Park, along with colleagues, friends and family to enjoy afternoon tea and celebrate the retirement he truly deserves.
Improving biodiversity alongside supporting business can be a complex and tricky business. Planning and development are essential to the strength of Warwickshire's economy. Safeguarding and improving biodiversity throughout the county is essential to all our futures. Marrying up these two great objectives, so that both are achieved, can be a complicated business, but it is a high priority. Alscot is no stranger to balancing business, adapting with the times to generate income streams and encourage commerce, whilst protecting the surrounding countryside, for future generations.
Stepping into his father’s footsteps, working on land in Clifford Chambers, where he lived as a boy, David Hall started his career in farming at the age of 15.
Working under the direction of local landowner, Major Taylor, David had originally started work 4 years earlier whilst at school, mowing the lawns at Clifford Manor for pocket money, before he ventured into full time employment.
Normally, we so look forward to being able share a drink, mince pie and the decked halls, with so many of you. Sadly, this year things are different, and as we are unable to spread a little Christmas cheer and kindness in person, we are doing so digitally. Planting season (Nov-March) is upon us and we’re off to a good start!
We have planted 700 new trees in a variety of species in various locations. We have created a new small plantation of 350 trees (pine, silver birch and hornbeam), and by planting another 350 trees, we have enhanced other existing woodlands across the estate.

With biodiversity being high on the agenda in so many schools now, the purpose of this project is to engage with children and offer opportunities to provide them with an understanding, in an interactive way, of the bigger picture in which todays challenges sit. Our aim is to help deliver, through practical demonstration, the complex issue of biodiversity to the next generation, to influence and promote a positive effect, and ultimately improve the health of the planet, that impacts all our lives.
After two years in the planning, we are very excited to have some tangible activity to show you on our Biodiversity Project site!
Following a careful plan, week commencing 19th Oct 2020, we (Kate, Paul, Harriett and Elliott) planted in excess of 11,000 wildflower bulbs and plugs in a wooded area known as The Roundel and each of the species was selected carefully by top ecologists. The objective is to increase the biodiversity value of the wood by recreating a woodland ground flora, improving the age structure, and increasing the deadwood resource.
