ALSCOT AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Our Commitment to Sustainability

We aim to achieve carbon neutral status by 2050. As part of our long-term strategy, we are implementing a range of sustainable practices across all departments to positively contribute to the UK’s efforts to combat climate change.

These initiatives include:

  • Office digitalisation and hybrid working

  • The use of hybrid vehicles and providing EV charging

  • Implementing energy performance measures like LED lighting, efficient boilers, effective insulation, and rainwater harvesting

Sustainable land management practises such as regenerative farming and Biodiversity Net Gain, lead to improved soil structure, organic matter, cleaner air, and flood mitigation. The natural grasslands encourage rare wildlife species and act as habitats. Planting trees and hedgerows capture carbon and provide shelter to livestock and act as corridors for wildlife.
