Clifford Chambers is a Category 4 village as identified in the Stratford-on-Avon District Core Strategy to deliver extra housing. The land at Clifford Chambers has been identified as a broad location in the Council’s Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment for residential development. The Estate has been approached by many developers wishing to take this site forward. The Estate has carried out extensive investigation into finding an appropriate house builder. Spitfire Bespoke Homes are a reputable company that deliver high quality homes in the locality such as at Shottery and Welford-on- Avon and the Estate feels that they are the most appropriate house builder for this site. They have won many prestigious awards and were recently awarded the national WhatHouse Small Housebuilder of the Year and Insider Midlands Housebuilder of the Year.

It is now for Spitfire Bespoke Homes to bring forward their plans to the local community for consultation.

Secretary of State, Sajid Javid, visits Alscot Estate

Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills was invited to the thriving Warwickshire country Estate to meet personnel from a range of diverse businesses and enterprises based on the 4,500 acre site at Atherstone on Stour. He was interested to establish what the Estate is doing for local businesses and also in seeing the future vision for land that is proposed for employment use, which is greatly needed in the local area.

Submission to Stratford District Council - December 2014

Alscot Estate made a submission to Stratford District Council in December 2014 and January 2015 regarding the airfield as an alternative site for employment land as part of the Draft Core Strategy.  The Estate was aware that allocated employment land sites within the Draft Strategy were concentrated to the north of Stratford and felt this was an imbalance that was addressed by the submission.  In light of the Planning Inspector’s comments, the Estate is looking forward to working closely with SDC to see how best the site can be utilised for employment use.
